During the summer months what is the best water temp should i have the boiler set at?

The boiler is used to heat the home and to heat water. I only use the boiler in the summer for the water.

best water temp should i have the boiler set at?

I have a (cold-start) boiler with outdoor reset, warm weather shutdown, and an indirectly-fired hot water heater. So I run the boiler all year around. The boiler control board has three thermostat inputs, and the priority 1 input controls the heating of the hot water tank. It is set to provide 165F to heat the hot water. This is somewhat low, but it just reduces the recovery rate. If I wanted the recovery rate higher, I would just raise this temperature. If the WWSD is in effect, the boiler is at room temperature most of the time, and when the water heater feels unsatisfied, the boiler and circulator to the heater operate to satisfy it.

Is your boiler running an indirect water heater? Or is it just one of those coil things? If it is a coil thing, someone other than me should answer your question.

    low limit setpoint

I have a boiler with a tankless coil for the DHW. I find that for me 130 degrees is a good low limit setpoint year round. My water at the fixtures is hot enough for me and the boiler still stays warm enough so that there is no condensation and/or moisture in the boiler and chimney. That's my first concern.

    130 too cold

It will cause condensation in a boiler not designed to handle it. 140 boiler water minimum Temp.

    No problem

Thats what we are here for. Mark make sure the boiler gets a good brush cleaning before the heating season comes into full swing to clean off any scale you may have accumulated.
