radiator placement

in THE MAIN WALL
I'm adding a new room to my house above the attached garage.  The room will have 2 1/2 exposed walls.  As of now I'm going with cast iron radiators in order to match the rest of the house.  I know they are usually located below windows, not sure why...does it matter?  Looking for suggestions for placement of radiator/s.  Thanks.

    they are usually...

    under windows because that is where the most heatloss is. That being said if you cant get them there or it is impractical.... as long as they are evenly placed  that will work out fine.
