I do very little heating these days as I have been doing process piping at a dairy plant for the last year. Is stainless steel jacketed flex piping banned now??? I know there were lawsuits due to lightning strikes but I still see it sold at the wholesale house.Someone said it can be used if a ground wire parallels it to the metal ridgid piping.

  Thanks in advance!

    Banned in RI

RI enaced a poorly written law effective 07-01-10 banning any csst if it has to be bonded, and due to the way RI is even counter strike is ng.  IF it is not specifically allowed it is specifically not allowed.  They are working on a fix to the law right now

    I just stay with iron

I have never been where I fear to thread. Yes it is nice but I manage just fine without CSST.

    Codes call......

..... for any gas piping, no matter csst, copper or iron be grounded.  Minimum 6 wire to the ground bar in the panel or to a rod.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

How about ProPress for gas Rich? Or is the flexibility factor what you are after.

Or does the piping have to be stainless because of USDA regs. I swear that the standards for food processing are tighter than they are for the medical profession.
