August 31, 2010
We would like to express our
appreciation for your support for the National Grid Residential High
Efficiency Heating Equipment Program on Long Island. This program has
been a HUGE success! We have processed a record amount of rebates for
this program, so again, many thanks for your efforts and support.
Due to your efforts and
overwhelming customer response, the Long Island Residential High
Efficiency Heating Program has reached its target and fully allocated
its incentive funding*. As a result,
effective August 31, 2010, this program is suspended.
National Grid’s Energy Efficiency
programs are funded by the Systems Benefit Charge (SBC) which is funded
by our natural gas customers. The Public Service Commission allocates a
certain amount of this funding to run our programs and once funding has
been depleted we are required to suspend the program.
While the Long Island high efficiency heating
equipment program has been suspended, all our other** energy efficiency programs in New York
City and Long Island are still in effect. We encourage you and your
customers to visit our energy efficiency website www.powerofaction.com/efficiency
to learn more about all our programs, including our new Enhanced Home
Sealing Incentives Program expected to be implemented in August 2010.
