Nightmare on hydronic mayhem street

On a mini-split estimate call. Head to the basement to check on the main breaker panel for power. Stopped dead in my tracks by the visual impact of hydronic mayhem visited upon the owners.

A propane Navien 98% tankless installed to do strictly hydronics while the relatively new CI oil-fired boiler sits disconnected and idle. PEX wraps around the boiler to interface between the Navien and system. Main circ standing on its head. Both zones pumping towards the exp tnk - lots of air issues. 500-gallons P a month on average during heating season.

They were told, among other things, that a chimney may have just one appliance connected - the oil-fired DHW heater, which meant a top-kill for the boiler. No draft diverter on the oil-fired water heater and the now unused draft diverter on the oil boiler was duct-taped shut. Disabled, but sits there with its flue still connected to the chimney.

We land this one & I'll supply pics.
