Several times a week, the attached arrives in my fax machine. Note that there's no company name or address, just the phone number.
This thing is an ink vampire and I would rather sweat to death than hire these idiots. At the bottom of the fax is a number to which I can fax back if I want them to stop. The number rings to a permanent busy signal.
I just called their 888 number. An idiot answered. I know he's an idiot because he was in the process of cursing out one of his fellow employees after he answered the phone, and I had to wait for him to finish spewing.
I asked if he could please remove my fax number from their list, and while I was asking he hung up on me. Didn't even curse me. Just hung up.
I called back and got voicemail. "Please leave a detailed message and we'll get back to you."
Just the sort of people you'd want to do business with, eh?

Oy!
That 516 number is Farmingdale, but I can't find a company called Sub Zero. There is a Sub Zero authorized repair place in Farmingdale. Wonder if it's the same. I like that it says state licensed. Would that be NY State licensed?0 -
The thought
that a company would invest money in advertising and then act this way. Dumb as can be.Retired and loving it.0 -
is it?
what if the goal is simply to bilk people out of $95 "service contracts"?
is there a company out there that can provide the service they talk about for $95?
these sound like scammer tactics.Rob Brown

Why the heck am I giving them the benefit of the doubt?Retired and loving it.0 -
As you stated...
The killer is that they are wasting ink and paper. I hate that. Same goes for all those corporate travel deals that seem to show up every day.
Too bad that fax number doesn't work. If you could find one for them that does just start bombarding them with crap. Maybe (though I doubt it) they'd get the idea.0 -
Reverse directory lookup...
I looked the number up in Verizon's reverse telephone directory, and it came up with:
"(516) 753-1154 is Unpublished or Unavailable"
"(516) 753-1154
"Type: Land Line Location: Farmingdale,
NY"
It draw a map of Farmingdale, Long Island with an arrow south of Conklin Steet 24 on Rosa (?) street and north of Prospect Street.
I also put in 1164 and 1194, because I could not really tell for sure.
They all gave the same result.0 -
They have a fax?
Why not put together a nice legal looking letterhead "Dan Holohan Esquire, Attorney at all" and send them a cease and desist threatening letter explaining that your client (you) is upset and considering civil charges that include mail fraud and harassment, along with damage from emotional distress. Require they send proof of having completed whatever you want them to do, (eg: photo of them wearing lampshades) mailed to your attorney (you) overnight, or you'll have no choice but to "proceed". You may want to let then know that you will notify the US Postal Service, the FBI, your congressman and "The Mob" if needed.
It might get a response. I suppose jerks don't bring out the best in
real people.
You can also get info on them for $1.00 at http://www.phoneagentsource.com/found_result_1407C.php :~)

Easy solution, get rid of the fax! I did about 2 years ago. Now just e-mail. Its like digital photos, I get to preview the messages, before wasting ink on them!

That's close by.
I'll take a ride and see what's there. Thanks.Retired and loving it.0 -
May not be worth the bother.
Since whatever number I put in, it gives the same map, my guess is that that is just the location they give for the whole town.0 -
