saddle valves

Ok guys.. I know this might sound silly however, can those piercing saddle valves be used on aqua-pex or equivalent? To explain further, I am connecting a 1/4' ice maker line and it would be easier to do this, than running all the way to a copper line in basement. 50 ft. away.
If not, has anyone heard of a "Tee" that can go between the sink supply line and a 1/4" ice maker line?
Thanks
Al

Yes there is a tee
the hardware stores and the box stores have 3/8" x 3/8" x 1/4" tees that go onto the outlet of a compression fitting like a lavatory or kitchen sink supply. Saddle valves are against Massachusetts plumbing code. They also make compression tees that can be used with inserts in the Pex tubing to provide a tap for an icemaker.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

thank you
Thanks Charlie!
I will look for them . I like the compression tee idea best.since in the future, it may have to be removed.
