Eccentric Bushings

Does anyone know of a source for eccentric bushings?  I am looking for the standard fitting that was used in the outlet of a radiator on a 2-pipe system.  Black iron, 1 1/2" x 1/2".

If you use a standard bushing on a system that has the steam inlets on the bottom of the radiator, (as mine does) the condensate will not drain through the trap properly.

Thanks,

    F.W.Webbs has them near me

The industrial/ professional wholesalers of your area should have them in stock or readily available.

    No One Around Here...

I have checked with major boiler contractor supply houses, and all of the major plumbing wholesaler's in the area.  They know what I am talking about, but they say that the part is not made anymore.   I

I may have to order the parts.. I need several of them, from the east coast.

You could also try a sprinkler supply house

They are also used by sprinkler fitters. If you are caught I am sure one of us can find you some.

    Eccentric Bushings

I actually am in current need of 5.  However, with some future planning and expansion, I can count 10.  Given the difficulty of finding these things, maybe I should just round up to 12.  I know that they will not give these things away, but hope that they are made of gold.  If so, I will lower my number to what I actually need.

    Size needed is 1 1/2" x 1/2"

    Thanks!  Dave

    Eccentric Couplings only...

Joe, thanks for the suggestion.  Unfortunately, they only have eccentric couplings.  That would be one way to skin the cat, but would take up additional space.  I am looking for eccentric reducing bushings.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Eccentric Reducer

    Dave-

You might try Anvil Pipe. They are a HUGE pipe fitting wholesaler and one of their distribution points is in Chicago. Their eccentric (bell) reducer isn't that long (1 3/4inches) so might be of use to you.

I suspect it maybe the same one that Joe mentioned above as Grinnell (from State Supply) and Anvil are connected.

Can't find them in the midwest....

Dear Steamhead or Charlie from wmass,

I would be greatly indebted if one of you could ship some eccentric bushings to me.

    I need:

    2 ea. 1 1/2" x 1/2"     Eccentric reducing bushing.

    2 ea.  2" x 1/2"           Eccentric reducing bushing.

I would be happy to pre-pay.

Depending on how they have these priced, I might double my order.  I have a few other potential radiator installations in the near future.

    Thanks!

    Dave
