finding water under unit and outside of plastic covering but it is not always in either place.
the water supply is from a well
have been told it can be condensation from the very cold well water.
any ideas?

time to pressure test
There are several ways but the unit should be checked for leakage. If you can see a clear link to condensation you can ignor the testing but leaks do not get better and it is better to change it if need be on your terms instead of its.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.
