Are all radiator traps the same?

If it fits the piping does it make a difference what brand we use? We are beginning a huge radiator trap replacement in my building. The very old traps are Sarco, the replacements are mostly Hoffman 17C's. The heating system has been run at excessive pressure which we are now fixing. Are there differences in the brands we should be aware of. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks

It isn't really necessary

to replace the entire trap body. You can get replacement insides for almost any trap.



The 17C traps have a slightly lesser throughput than the Sarcos, so if you've already bought some, you can use them to advantage on smaller radiators to help balance the system.
