Tankless and Superstor Ultra combo?

Currently, I have a Munchkin doing duty with baseboard heat, and domestic hot water via a Superstor Ultra tank. In the winter, the Munchkin is assisted by an outside wood burner via a heat exchanger in the loop. Munchkin doesn't get much of a workout in the winter thanks to an abundant wood supply.

In the summer, the Munchkin does only the domestic hot water. It is starting to occur to me that though it may be efficient, I am still burning a lot of gas, and money, heating domestic water.

I put in a Takagi TK-JR at a rental house I own, and no complaints from them so far.  I think I will put one here at home, also.

My question is, since I already have that tank installed, would I be defeating the purpose of the tankless by continued use of the Superstor in the system?

Just feed the hot out of the Takagi right into the "cold" inlet of the Superstor?

    Use a Navien

98% efficient and it makes only the amount of water you want exactly when you want it.
