Water feeder question

The water feeds into the end of the return line as seen in the picture. Is that a problem? Should the water be feeding into the horizontal pipe that goes into the boiler as seen in bottom picture ?

Feed Water
The feed water is tapped into the return line so that it can mix with warmer water on its way into the boiler. This reduces the danger of cracking the boiler if otherwise piped cold straight into the boiler.0 -
Should the copper pipe enetering the boiler be lowered to the lowere part of the glass
