I am adding two main vents to my one-pipe steam system. The piping from the main to the vents is 16 inches long and I can use either 3/4 or 1/2 inch pipe to connect to the vents (the vents are eqipped with both size threads). Is there any advantage favoring one size over the other?

vent piping size
Etiher will most likely work, but what is more important is the venting capacity of the vents. They should be properly sized for the amount of the system they are handling, the size and length of the main. Unless you have a very large system, 1/2" should do the job OK.0
