in Oil Heating
Just installed a new SGO Steam Oil W/M boiler. I have about a 8 second delay in ignition with new Beckett causing an slight bang at ignition. Not sure why haven't done my smoke test yet but the burner is burning ok at the moment.
Any help?

delayed ignition
8 seconds after burner start up is OK due to solonoid on the fuel pump. IF after the solonoid opens, then you have an adjustment problem. Have installed a lot of WM boiler with few issues but check the obvious.......correct and tight nozzle, air shutter adjustment, electrode settings, pump pressure, etc.
Did you get the right burner? With today's shipping methods of picking your burner, do you have the correct one for your boiler....don't laugh cause it's happened to us twice....supplier simply grabbed the wrong burner.
Most likely an air adjustment will solve your problem, but be diligent and check things over carefully.0
