hree Hamilton police officers charged into a

downtown house last night and rescued two children overcome by carbon

monoxide.

The children – age four and five – were overcome by

carbon monoxide after their parents moved a gas generator inside the

home on Ashley Street between Cannon Street East and Wilson Street

because the neighbours complained about the noise.

They were

pulled from the house by three Hamilton police, first to arrive after

the mother called 911 just after 9 p.m. to report one was unconscious

and the other vomiting, and carried outside.

One of the two

children went to Hamilton General Hospital for treatment in a hyperbaric

chamber while the other was taken to McMaster Children’s Hospital.
