Ok, here goes

Customer has a 24 year old oil-fired hot water boiler, 115k with a tank-less coil. This year after cleaning I found several leaks and overall it was fast approaching the end of its useful life. Customer asked for a US made boiler that was cost effective and would last as long as this old Thermodynamics did. I am leaning toward a Burnham MPO but have heard terrible things about there quality now and the tough time contractors have getting replacement sections after units fail. Have any of you seen any problems with the MPO line? I would be adding a indirect and we are trying to keep this within there budget numbers so Buderus is out too.....looking for any input at all.  Thanks Mark

So far the MPO (and MegaSteam)

seem to be holding up well. Burnham did have issues with the V-7 and V-8 series, but they appear to have recovered.

    Never Had a Problem

with a MPO except maybe some burner problems with the direct vent version. Its a nice boiler and the new version coming out soon with the IQ control package is a home run. Customer will be able to add ODR with a simple plug in card if he chooses. Same control platform as the ES2.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

    it is sad how.....

a few issues  that a company RESOLVES can lead to the ruin of a name. Burnham was very fair I think in the resoltion of the past issues and still yes they get a bad rap in some circles even for a boiler that has nothing to do w/ the past..... At least you asked the question and got the info. on he new unit.
