I am replacing a huge boiler on Monday because its cracked and found out today that the 2 supply pipes are 3 1/2 black pipe not 3 inch like I thought. Now I can not find any fittings to reduce it down to 2 inch to run back to the boiler any suggestions. And yes they are 3 1/2 pipes.

    Break out the welder....

A 4" by 2" Weld Bend reducer with a 2" threaded by blank cut nipple ought to do the trick.

That or check with Starbuck. He might have a 3-1/2" X something laying around.

It's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.

That might be a tough find, especially on a weekend. I looked on a couple of web sites for 3 1/2" fittings, no luck. Any Old Timers in your neighborhood w/some old ftgs laying around their shop? Might be worth asking.

    Once in a while

we get these at Pratt Thompson, in Baltimore. SAratoga-7-6826 is their number, and we're always finding stuff there that dates back to the phone-exchange-name days. Oh yeah, the area code is 410.
