Pressure relief valve

I am installing a Peerless WBV-03 steam boiler. Peerless recommends placing the relief valve on top of the boiler, near the riser. They provide an alternate location at the rear of the boiler. This second spot is dead-level with the skim port. I would like to use the rear location for ease of attaching a pipe to the relief valve leading to the floor. How far above the hole should I place the relief valve (ie: how long of a nipple should I use)?
Thank you,
Mike

Pressure Relief Valve
The length of the nipple doesn't really matter, but for practical purposes, the pressure relief valve itself should be located as close to the boiler as possible (that's where it's doing it's job) while also being easily accessible for periodic blowdown or replacement.0 -
Relief valve location
Thank you Chris. I will keep it close to the boiler.
