Replacing a old expansion tank asme rated with top takeoffs for air inlet pressure and overflow drain. Well new tank has no top take offs, they really dont make these anymore so I wanted to use the sight glass to reconnect air inlet pressure and overflow? Customers wants a new top take offf overflow? We already have a costly drain o tank on the tank already.
So, why is a top take off overflow requried?

Air Pressure inlet ?
What do you mean by air pressure inlet ??? To help breaking the vacuum when draining ...
My guess the top taps where used for an open system .…Or maybe the tank could be used for other applications ... I seen one set up where the heating supply flowed through the tank ....There was an error rendering this rich post.
