help for a midwest dad

in THE MAIN WALL
  I'm in the midwest, my daughter has transplanted to Newport, R.I. and recently bought a house. It has the original 1941 oil boiler hot water heat with indirect dom.hot water .  She wants to replace this summer.   oil or gas ? any suggestions on what to do?
