Adding additional radiators

Having done heat loss calculations, I have figured out the EDR I need. Using TLAOSH, I have calculated the risers, run-outs, valve sizes, vents, etc, that I need. What I am not sure about, is how the new valve will attach to the new-to-me radiators (have not yet purchased, but am actively looking).
Is there a fitting that screws into the radiator that matches and attaches to the valve? What is this piece called? And how is it sized? Is there anything else I should be asking?
Thank you,
Mike

SPUD WRENCH
If you purchase WATTS type radiator valves (which are relatively cheap) they come with a union and nipple threaded on 1 side with (2) grooves on the opposite side of eachother on the inside diameter of the nipple. You need a special tool called a SPUD WRENCH to properly tighten this nipple into your radiator. This tool is good for radiator valves 1/2" up to 2" & can be bought at any plumbing supplies, Sears, or Home Depot, etc. Next step would be to apply some pipe sealant dope on the face of each side of the union and tighten.0 -
Watts valve
This link is to Watts home page, searched to "steam radiator valve", in case it does not work.

Is this the correct valve? If so, the union and nipple you refer to are not shown but, do come with the valve, in your experience?
Thank you,

i had wanted only the spuds .. but I had to buy the entire valve I believe.
