AH WHAT TO DO..
an accurate diagnosis should be made of your system, before proceeding further. this would include a measurement of the amount of radiators you have attached to the boiler, as it may be the case that the boiler capacity is wrong. if the boiler is not leaking or loosing water, then you have time to consider what to do. it may not even be necessary to replace traps, as they can fail to function as a result of over-pressure.
if we knew more about the problems you were having, we could advise further. the over-pressure problem should be investigated before any major work is done. the range of pressures which 2-pipe steam systems work best with are from 2 OUNCES to 12 OUNCES. can you find out what your pressure is?--nbc0 -

Nicholas, There are 3 Honeywell Pressuretrol units attached to the pipe above the boiler. #1 is set Diff. 1 PSI - .1 KG/CM2 : Main .25 KG/CM2 2.5 PSI #2 is set Diff. 1/2 PSI 0.05 KG/CM2 Main 0.275 KG/CM2 5 PSI and #3 is set Main .275 KG/CM2 5 PSI. Then there is an Internal Syphon gauge that reads from 0 to 30 and the needle points to about 1. How can I tell if the pressure is between 2 oz and 12 oz?
