why we blowdown the LWCO...

i scavenged this MM67 LWCO for spare parts from a boiler replacement job that I stumbled upon in my neighborhood... apparently the boiler they were replacing "had a crack in it"... the last picture is of the pipe that was "connected" to the blowdown tap. (sorry for the poor camera phone pics)
