Hello, And in servicing a 130 ton water source heat pump system, I notice a constant "winning" in the supply lines to the heat pumps. Tried throttling the 20 HP pump but it doesn't help. What can I do?...

Noisy pipes
Although I am not there to hear it, the sound you are describing definitely sounds like a velocity issue due to a restriction in the water circuit. The first thing I would check would be the strainer on the cooling tower. Since the cooling tower is often exposed to the elements, you can only imagine all of the wonderful things that accumulate in the sump!

Assuming you are not in Jamaca.......
Can you by-pass your boiler? Scaling can be a problem. Also I was first thinking cavitation, but that is a completely different sound. sorry. Are you hearing this noise AT the pump station?
