Tape or plaster over Danfoss remote sensor capillary?

I find myself the proud owner of about six Danfoss RA2000 valves which were mounted spun around on the supply pipe so they face straight up. I was wondering why they didn't seem to be cycling quite right with the ambient temperature until I noticed the Danfoss installation instructions specifically said to not mount them in this orientation.

I am replacing the thermostats with the remote-sensor version to deal with this (spinning most of the valves to face horizontally isn't an option -- they'd protrude in inconvenient locations) but the silver capillary tube running up the matte white wall next to each radiator is pretty obvious, and not exactly attractive.

Can I channel the plaster and bury the capilary tube, or just hide it under drywall tape/compound, or will this cause a problem? I assume at least there's no reason why I can't paint it, if nothing else will work.

Thanks!

Thor

Just don't kink the cap tube and you'll be fine.

The cap tube is a transfer medium and not a sensing element. I painted mine into the wall, and it works just fine.

    Create a channel

to bury the cap tube in and then put joint compound over it.
