This is the only vent that is in this system at the present time. I'll be adding vents to the mains (under the guidance of Steamhead) in the near future.
I've stuck a 1/2" ell and some nipples off the top where the old float valve used to vent and currently have 2 Gorton #2's up there ( the picture shows only one). The thermostatic valve is also shot.
What would you guys do in this situation? :
1. Add more, fatter branches (3/4") and more Gortons?
2. put a new thermostatic valve up there? (tunstall?)
3. put a new float valve back up there?
any combination/ all of the above?
This system used to run very high (4 lbs!) but now runs at about 2 lbs before pressure cycling off at about 45 minutes. The Gorton #2's get very hot starting at about 2-3 oz.
