Where do you install your boiler fill valves?

I am trying to learn where your boiler fill valve is generally installed on the system? Thank you for your input

    At the Point

Of no pressure change. If you want to learn Dan has a nice book called "Pumping Away" that you can purchase right here on his site.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

    Fill valves

The best place to locate your fill valve is between your extrol tank and your tie in point just put in a 1/2 tee and add your fill there, its known as the point of no presure change, see the picture below look at the tank and right above it is the point,

    thank you

thank you, that pic is great, I think I will end up doing exactly the same thing and be done with the issue. Two side notes, I like Dr Pepper too! :)

Also why does it look like I dont see the drain flow line coming out of the backflow preventer?

    We normally

pipe the feed into boiler return pipe . You can purge the zones with hot water and know they're all done easier . And if you're closing the PRV down after purging ( with a LWCO ) , the placement of the valve is not critical .
