What are people using for air eliminators?

You know I searched "air" and nothing came back, well putting together my system and would like to narrow my search for the valve.

    air eliminators?

I am not a professional, but I had a new hot water boiler installed last May. It uses a Taco

4900 series air separator. It is one of the fancy type, not an air scoop, but the small size, not the industrial size and is in 1 1/4" pipe.

    Good old air scoop....

Has worked well for me for over 35 years.

They key is making sure that all pumps pump away from the point of no pressure change (expansion tank connection), and pump away from the boiler, if possible.

It's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.

I like the old scoops better each year

Do as Mark suggests and you will be happy with how well it works.
Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

    options

If it was mine I would put in a Spirovent.  But I sell the air scoops, and make sure you don't put it right off an elbow you need that good laminar flow, hottest water, and lowest pressure for optimum air to come out of the water and into your air scoop.
