K factor
K factor is simply the amount of fuel you use per degree day. To lower your K factor you have to improve system efficiency. Heat loss only has to do with how much heat you need to heat the house at a given desing temp. Your fuel company uses K Factor to determine when to delivery fuel if you are on auto fill. Things like better insulation, windows, equipment upgrades, outdoor reset, etc, are the things you can do to lower your K-factor.0
