you can ..
two suggestions both thanks to Mr. Gill ..
1) Read the thread in the "controls" forum called why vaporstats suck. And notice where he talks about adjusting the "jeweler" screw. My vaporstat, brand new worked like a charm .. then I made the mistake of adjusting the normal adjustment screws .. then it was a train wreck .. when I finally got around to playing with the jeweler screw it is very much functional and back to accurate (or nearly accurate) operation.
2) You can build a highly accurate pressure controller such as Mr. Gill did in his pictures located here ... which implements a HydroLevel Safgard Tank Pump Control just like this one .. http://www.hydrolevel.com/new/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=37 .. he is using 2 Safgards in his picture to control HIGH/LOW fire, if you have only one fire level, you only need 1 piece. It works from the principal that 1oz of pressure raises a water column 1.75" .. he has the Pump Level controls inside the black pipe and the gauge glass simply for visual inspection.
