Tjernland SS-1 problems

Does anyone out there know if there's supposed to be a hole on the inside of the inside enclosure that the squirrel cage fits into? I replaced a squirrel cage on a 10 yr old one and its very noisey, kind of like a harmonic screech for lack of a better term. I don't know what the old one sounded like, it was broke when I got there.

    Don't know

about the hole. Never noticed one before, but also wasn't looking for it. A screech sounds more like the squirrel cage is hitting the housing. We always change the motor and fan as one unit. Eliminates alignment issues.

I never really looked for one either. Nobody from tjernlund has replied, nor has the supply house that I deal with....

the hole is a knockout for use with a standing pilot

its to allow for a standing pilot.

your supposed to open the knockout if you've got one.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Are you seeing the holes that accept the metal pegs on the motor assembly?
