AQ2000 outdoor temp sensor

Sorry if these Qs are very simple but as a home owner who

needs a new boiler, the much of the info in the posts is a bit beyond my

understanding. . .

I’m interested in the outdoor temp sensing controller AQ2000

. . is this something that would be

added onto a typical system / installation or would this be in place of a “controller”

in a typical estimate / installation?

My heating company / potential installer does not seem much

interested or knowledgeable about these outdoor sensing controllers . .are they

complicated or fussy or too new????

I’ve called the Honeywell site, but as a previous post said,

they’re not much help in concerning AQ2000 including the cost which my heating

company said would be about $400 . . from the little the guy knew @ HW, that

seemed high . . about how much should one of these cost (diff to find on the

InNt)?    . . .  Any other info about this would be appreciated, thanks for

your time.

    Cost

We don't discuss pricing at the wall ... Most home owners don't understand the cost of sending over a mechanic to install a unit and guaranteeing a system to work .. Outdoor reset have been around since the early 1900's .. The early ones where manual adjusted .. The early automatic residential models that I know of where tube type models in the 1950's .. Most heating contractors back then never know hot to fix them or even understand them so they where just bypassed and disconnected .. The the early processors came into the field and they never lasted .. Either they were poorly made or a lack of understanding was present and they went by the wayside ... So most fuel companies that sell service contracts are skittish about installing them ..Me I am a believer in them , and the technology in processors have greatly improved ... But don't expect to see them under a service contract any time soon
