I am wanting to put an electric furnace in my shop ; it 30-50 well insulated ,with 14 foot ceilings; I also want to put a water radiator in it, I have a Hardy wood furnace that I will mainly use ,with the electric for back up; How big of radiator do I need? How big of electric furnace do I need? Thanks ! Anyone have a better idea? I have water pipes in the floor also, and was going to run water thru there also

heatloss
A heatloss calc will answer all those questions. The water passing through a radiator needs to be hotter than the water in the underfloor piping, and the pipe layout & type is very important. Will the garage freeze when it is not in use? May need glycol to prevent freezing. I would consider a Rinnai tankless for a small application like that. Water heaters are too inefficient and the smallest boilers will be nearly twice what a tankless is. Would work very well for just heating while you are out there. If you will keep it warm all the time, look at small boilers.
