It started snowing in Baltimore about an hour ago... they say we could get up to 24 inches!

Could this be the Blizzard of 2009?

Anyone else getting snow?

    high pressure

Just high pressure and serious inversion here. no woodburning stoves or fireplaces allowed right now, and no storm for days in the intermountain west...

    what is this?

Double you pleasure night? Click all you want, it doesn't change things. Believe me I know. Try gum. (Wrigleys)

Now, back to the big bussness, the weather.

Child # 3 just picked up child # 2 at the airport here in Anchorage. She flew in from Phoenix. It was 75 there and it's supposed to be -18 here. We have about 2 feet. Enough about the weather. My folks used to say that's how boring you are.

My 4 adopted kids are the greatest things in the world. Well, most of the time, Uh some of the time,  Um, I'll leave that one alone.

    Best of everything

    snow on the way

My first born drove up to NY last night from Richmond,  missed your snow in Baltimore, but didn't miss the traffic.  She drove 10 hrs for a 300 mile trip. But the smile on her mothers face & hug from me was worth it she says.  My younger 2 texted yesterday with a picture of " piggies in the sand"  -  surfing & swimming in Hawaii.  I think I'll go move a 1/2 cord of wood inside before it starts,  and throw some wood in the Eko.   Stay warm !!

    We ended up

with about 20 inches here in Damascus, MD aboot  an hour NW of Baltimore. I cleared the driveway once about 10 Oclock AM and then it blew right back over and erase my work. D'oh! I decided to wait until it stops.

Got just over a foot here

with some higher drifts. Now we know why we make such a big deal of snow-line clearance when sidewall-venting equipment! I've seen some vent terminations 12 inches above ground- those guys might have been in some trouble this weekend.

Here's what our house looked like after we dug ourselves out.
