shifting radiator position?

I am moving into a new condo and one issue is the direction of a radiator in the living room. I don't want to replace the radiator, just spin it around so that it runs the length of the room north-south, instead of the width of the room east-west. Is that possible? Is it expensive for a plumber to do? I'm afraid my furniture won't fit in the room the way the radiator is currently positioned!
Thanks,
B

It depends....
If it is steam, it might not be easy or feasible.
If it is hot water, it has a 50/50 chance of being moved.
If the space below you is an occupied unit, you will need their permission to do the work.
If the space below you is a concrete floor, it could be VERY expensive.
Best see the advice of a practiced professional.
MEIt's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.0
