L8124L aquastat
Replaced old Honeywell L8124L(thats what was there originally) triple aquastat because circ pump didnt run. Ran system, no problems... until next day my sister calls and says now its overheating. She just moved into the house, no history on the blr. Its an old weilMclain oil boiler, no hw coils, just straight heat. What should my hi/lo settings be or should I be using another aquastat / any suggestions(L8148?) and no, the kid behind the parts counter was no help, where did all the good old countermen go?

RE: L8124L aquastat
Typically the high would be set at 180 and the low at 160 if dictated by design temp. you could turn the low side down since there’s no coil but I would not put it to low as the boiler was designed to maintain temperature. I’d look to see if a flow check had been installed and if so, is it open or stuck open. There’s a place to start. Good luck and let us know how you make out with this situation. There was an error rendering this rich post.
