nyc propress problems

i am a nyc heating contractor.this past week i had two different jobs in different boroughs of nyc that failed there finish plumbing inspections due to using propress fittings on the boiler room heating piping. both inspectors basically said the same thing"under the old code which the plumbing permit was pulled,the copper crimp fittings are not allowed".  i believe that under the old code my entire heatng system install {other than the gas supply and water supply which is done by the job plumber} is not subject to any inspecton. has any other contractors had this happen and is there any validity to the failure? thanks in advance for any responses
