Steam for a garage workshop?

I have one-pipe steam in the house and am trying to figure out how to heat a 1-car attached garage that I use as a workshop.
I've heard that Modine makes garage heaters that work with steam, but the ones I've found are rated for 2 PSI. My pressuretrol is set for 1/2 PSI. Would the Modine still work? Also, would the whole thing have to be piped with black steel pipe? Or is there a flexible piping option?
Here's the unit to which I'm referring...

Thanks.

Steam or Hot Water
The answer to your question is "maybe". While steam heating is quite simple you have to understand the necessary design requirements to make a steam heating system work satisfactorily. It's a little more than just hooking up some pipes. There also maybe an option of hooking up a hot water radiator from your steam boiler. This might be simpiler than trying to run steam.
What you're going to have to do is either get a steam pro to make the installation for you or learn about steam yourself. For a pro you can look in the "Find a Professional " link at the top of the page or if you want consider doing it yourself, go to the top of the page and in the "Shop" section, get a book called "The Lost Art of Steam Heating" by Dan Holohan.

Actually...
I have the book.
What I need is advice specific to the Modine. As I said, my Pressuretrol is set for 1/2 PSIG. What I need to know is whether the Modine will work with less than 2 PSIG.

Sure,,,,
2 PSI is the standard rating.
Piping-it-up properly to a steam system is the trick! :-)0
