How to reset TT Prestige Solo to factory parameters?

He had a Triangle Tube Prestige Solo 110 installed in our home by a TT certified installer last year, and, I must say, I don't think I've loved a machine so much since my first car back in college. Our heating bills were cut in half during the coldest months.
However, all is not well with my beloved TT. A couple of weeks ago, said installer sent out a non TT-schooled technician to do their annual contracted check-up, and something went pear-shaped.
Our thermostat was out of batteries, (which was, surprisingly, not at all obvious), so the boiler wasn't turning on when he turned up the heat. He overrode something to get the system on so he could check it. I have no idea what he did (I wasn't here), but I could tell when I got home something wasn't right. I then figured out that the thermostat was dead, replaced the batteries, and the furnace kicked right on. The problem is that even though it was 60 degrees out, the boiler was kicked up to the highest temp water (186 degrees). Same when the temp outside was 39.
We called them back to see what happened to the modulation, and the same non-TT guy came out. He told my husband that the water temp was 10 degrees too hot and reset it. Now the water temp is around 145 degrees, but still isn't modulating. I tried to call him, but he's not returning my call. Obviously, I'm not too jazzed about calling the same guy to come out again while I'm not here to ask questions.
SO, if I wanted to a) make sure the outdoor temperature sensor is working and b) reset the boiler to it's using the basic factory settings for outdoor temp/water temp, how would I do this? Is it too complicated for a non-skilled DIYer like me? Or should I just keep being a pain in **** to the heating company?

It can be,,,
if your original settings were not recorded,, some do, some don`t. There is a page in your instruction manual for the installer to do this.
The factory settings will be in there too,,, but other than parameters 1 to 4 you will need the MCBA access-code to get in,,,, depending on what he changed, you may be better-off trying to get this knucklehead to remember , and switch things back.
I ALWAYS record them, and provide a drawing of their heating curve so the homeowner can track-it themselves if they like,,, time spent, about 15 minutes! :-).
PS- To check your outdoor sensor, flip open the small lower-door and look at the enclosed booklet. Tap the MODE button until it displays INFO, then tap the STEP button until the first # says 4,,,,, the #`s to the right are what the outdoor temp is.0 -
Like Dave said
after looking at 4 under info(outdoor temp) got to number 6(calculated supply temp) if the actual supply temp is higher than the calculated temp, it is possible the boost function is on.0 -
confused over info readings
Thanks for the help, guys. I'm much obliged. I just checked the info readings, but I'm confused by a couple of 'em. Here's what I got:
1 142
2 104
3 -22
4 -22
5 092
6 186
Does that mean the boiler thinks it's -22 degrees outside? It's more like 55. I can call the contractor back tomorrow, but what exactly do I tell him?0 -
The sensor is unplugged...
a reading of -22 means the sensor is either unplugged or failed.
When no outdoor sensor is present, the boiler just defaults to the high limit.
Call the contractor back, tell them to send someone competent and tell them to bring a small screwdriver and spare outdoor sensor just in case. Or check it yourself, if you feel up to it.

Are you SURE about those #`s?
Those are pretty screwy to me,,,,
To my knowledge Parameter 3 will not even display -22.
Parameter 4 will also not.
Parameter 5 (depending on the MCBA) is either the "minimum" operating temperature set-point during the warmest day,,,, OR the measured flue gas temperature.
Parameter 6 (again, depending on the MCBA) is either the "minimum" outdoor temperature(to establish your heating curve),,, OR The actual "target" temperature of the boiler at the present outdoor temp.
There are 2 different MCBA controllers used on the Prestige,,, depending on the age of yours, you likely have the first version.
Gets confusing doesn`t-it? Do you have any information or install booklets with you?
Again,,,, it`s too-bad this guy "mucked" with your comfort settings!0 -

indicates your outdoor thermistor is not connected.0
