No tongues on VariValves?

Hey all,
I just got some new angle VariValves for my system. I noticed that they don't have tongues like the Vent-Rite #1s that I'm replacing. I'm assuming if they were supposed to have tongues they would have come with them, but since I've never bought new valves before I thought I'd double check here.
best,
-Bob

No Float - No Tongue
Vari-Valves just have a thermostatic element that will close in the presence of steam , Other radiator valves of the Hoffman 1A type, (like Vent -Rite) have a thermostatic element and also a float. The float closes the vent when water is present. The little "tongues" help drain off any water that gets into the radiator valve. Since the Vari Valve has no float, it has no "tongue". I've attached a pdf which explains the "tongue's" use in more detail. (See # 4 in the pdf attachment)
