Looking for special cast iron radiator valve (one sided)

I have two locations in a home where the supply and return for a hot water radiator approaches the radiator from one end. I could run one of the two pipes under the radiator to pick up the other side, but it would not look very good as these are the fancy cast iron type that sit up high on their legs making a pipe like that visible and unappealing. Is anyone aware of a radiator valve that could thread into one end of the radiator for both supply and return. I would envision that it would be cast brass and have an extension tube that would discharge water to the far (capped) end of the radiator. Please some one wake me up if I am dreaming.

There is,,,
but I have installed a "running thread" on the return nipple(enough to let-it protrude though the rads bushing),, then use a ? X 1/2" CXF adapter on the nipple-end inside the rad,, then cut your pipe off the length you want to protrude-in.
Of course, you`ll have to remove the rads bushing, and is also dependent on the configuration of the radiator sections to insert to the opposing-end,,,, but 1/2" tubing will be all you should need.
Hope this helps ;-)0 -
If that system is old enough
to have "fancy cast iron type" radiators with pipe connections on the same side, it's undoubtedly an old gravity system. The pipe sizing on these is nothing like we see now.
What pipe size is coming into that radiator now? If it's bigger than 1/2-inch, those 1/2-inch valves won't work. They will have such high resistance to flow as compared with the rest of the system, that little or no water will flow thru that radiator. No flow, no heat.
How about a pic of the radiator in question? All Steamed Up, Inc.

Interesting enough, if the radiator is not too big, it will work anyway with the connections on the same end.
