When will people learn,

that they make bronze circulators for a reason.

This was on an A/H supplied by a DWH.

Cast iron cost less than bronze :-)

The general thought process in the field is, "The water mains in the street are cast iron, so it must be OK to use cast iron pumps..."

The other thought process is, "Heck, if it last for 5 years, I can AFFORD to replace it every 5 years, and still be $ ahead"

You, I and others know differently, but that's what people in the field think.

Education is our first most important job.

Keep up the good work Dave.

It's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.

    Fine thinking!!

You are all missing the point! JOB SECURITY!! If you install a cast pump then you get to charge for more often system cleanings, replacing pumps.......

Unless you're one of those weird people that have the opinion of "do it right the first time" What a concept

Too bad common sense isn't very common!
