PA code?
withers
Member Posts: 1
Uncle lives in PA. and I'm a master plumber/pipefitter in RI, MA,& CT. He needs new boiler and was told that his chimney needs to be lined with stainless steel liner. Oil boiler, wtgo-4, chimney has clay liner and is center of house. Just wanted to know if that is a PA code or is someone looking for extra work. Also can homeowners pull their own permits? Would appreciate any info, thanks, Pete.

PA Codes
Withers, I’m originally from PA and last I knew a clay liner (providing it’s of proper size and in good condition) would be acceptable.
Just for the record the company may not be looking for extra work, some just don’t interpret the code correctly.
I’d suggest your uncle ask them to please review NFPA 211 and follow those guide lines. There was an error rendering this rich post.
