There is another entry in this field. It may not be available here yet, but it seems to be on trial in Germany. It seems to be a little cogeneration machine in your basement that produces both heat and electricity by running a natural gas powered engine. The heat produced, normally considered as waste, is used to make hot water and to heat the house. And since they have that shaft going around anyway, they use that to run a generator or alternator to make electricity. That electricity can be used in the house most of the time, and delivered to the grid the rest of the time. The devices can be controlled through the Internet and they can be switched on remotely to help handle peak power requirements on the grid. More details are here:

    Smart

Europeans wants to use the cogen idea to supplement the electrical infrastructure.

Give us the electricity you get the heat, and the cost burden to run it.

While the American strategy is to get the individual away from grid dependency.

I like the idea of cogen until enough flood the market to raise fossil fuel prices. Then what?

Freewatt specs seem a little weak exhaust gas of 140* a little more heat could be extracted.

1200 watts is ample power not off grid capacity but definitely an ample supplement for a package like that.

Probably a balance between a quiet power generator that is enough to produce some real electricity, and usable heat in a small package.

The boilers appearance seems to be of a Dunkirks Q95m variety, but the Output Does not reflect that.

    Yes it's ECR

ECR has the exclusive rights for now in the US on the freewatt system.

(with Honda Cogen generator) They have had it for at least 4 years in test and marketing at trade shows for 1?
