Monoflow

I am worried about trying this but Danfoss indicates it will work, I have a monoflow system with 3 pieces of fintube in the basement, out of about 10 total pieces of radiation. The customer would like to zone it seperate from the house. Has anyone tried non electric valves in this situation. I know I can add a bypass with the trv, but it would keep costs down to do it the way Danfoss shows it in their DataSheet.

Sure it would!
If the basement rads are MonoFlo from the upstairs main on a stat, the Danfoss TRV`s will enable those 3 basement rads to run cooler,, or even off. But they will only heat to their setting when the upstairs zone is calling. If he wants complete separation of those 3 from upstairs he will need to treat them as another zone. A bypass would only be needed if it were a loop system. :-)0
