PVC to copper
I always use a female PVC adapter with a rubber washer inside and a male copper adapter, put pipe dope with teflon on the male threads and then wrap with 3 layers of teflon tape and assemble then glue the PVC.0 -

When I did mine, I had the same problem- until I reread the literature which said to use 8" nipples if I remember correctly before changing to PVC. re- piped , and no more leaks. Mine was a WM, and all of their literature is online.0 -
