A good friend has lost his Dad

....so, so sorry, Chris. I lost my Dad in 2000, and I still think about him every day. I remember like it was yesterday the comfort I got from my fellow wallies at the time, too.

This too shall pass, and time will ease the pain. Just remember that your dad is in a better place now, free from any pain and suffering, and is looking down on you proudly. We are all here for you, my man!

    Thanks Guys.

I appreciate the thoughts and will let the family know that I've got friends that are wishing them the best also.

Dad was a GREAT guy.Like most of us (I'm sure)...I didn't get to know him as one of my Best friends until I was given that status by him.

We spent lots of time boating and fishing together when he was forced to retire. I've got some great stories on what got him there...and the people who felt the need to "trail" him...to make sure he wasn't faking!

Mom has told me since getting out of the Coast Guard that I was "turning into your father".
    I take that as a compliment !

Again, thank you all for your support and thoughts. Chris
