Geo and Refer expert- Q for you

I am working on a quote for a large house with geo. This question does not have much to do with geo, just basic refrigeration.

waterfurnace says their AC ratings are based on entering 80db and 67Wb air. Also, to add to the fun, the SHR (sens heat ratio) is a variety of numbers based on the specific unit, but lets say .65 for sake of conversation.

To get to a 75Db I must include a factor of .699. OK, lets call it .70.

I dont know of anyone who would appreciate an 80 deg design indoor temp on a hot summer day, especially on a high tech new system.

Might you take your rated capacity out of the book (lets leave the other numbers like flow rates and cfm out for now, I just need help with the referig), calculate your .70 to get the 75db indoor air, then throw the SHR into the manual J and let it do the adjusting?

Does wrightsoft have Manual S?

Thanks for any help, gary

    Why all the fuss?

You do know that the ari rating that he quoted you verse the manufacture application data is not equivalent.

The correction factor you speak of is no longer a issue these days.I can not even recall the last time I ever had to use it.

Look at the manufacture data again and you will find total capacity, sensible capacity and shr for many different drybulb, wetbulb, cfm, and water temps.

Just so you know the shr will change from one day to the next depending on load.

    Hope this helps.
