The Vitorond can be direct vented. See the Direct Venting Instructions at the Viessmann website in product documentation, or from your Viessmann dealer.

Viessmann boilers
Hey guys, I cant seem to find out if I can direct vent a Vitorond VR2-33 boiler. I have to move this ( or something else ) to a new location in the house and there is no chimney. Would like to direct vent this unit instead of having to build a chimney. I am having trouble getting an answer, anyone that has seen this please let me know. Thanks alot in advance, David .

VR2 Vent
The VR2-33 cannot be direct vented. But you could purchase a side-wall vent kit. Here is the link to the installtaion manual. http://www.viessmann.ca/etc/medialib/internet-ca/pdfs/doc/acc.Par.35506.File.tmp/SW_Vent_Sideshot_is.pdf0 -
Like I said....
the Vitola boiler can be direct vented.

Well, that's not direct vented. That's power vented. Direct vent doesn't use a power venter.0 -
terms
perhaps the term "direct venting" shouldn't be used for oil boilers? Viessmann's Vitogas 50 (ECV) boilers are "direct vented" and have an internal power fan. I take the term to mean an atmospheric chimney is not required.
To quote the Viessmann description: "...the ECV, with a built-in power venter for direct venting through an outside wall with a single-wall, stainless steel vent-pipe system."

I hear ya. To me, if I have to put a powered unit through the wall and attached the exhaust to it, that's a power venter. If I can just connect the vent to the unit, with or without it's own internal fan, that's direct vent.
Semantics, that's all.0 -
VR-2
The Viessmann VR1-33 can be direct vented, no fan. The VR-2 is no longer available.0
