Converting a Steam Boiler to Hot water

I have a Peerless ECT series steam boiler that is 8 years old. It is set up for steam and I need to convert it for my hot water system. What is involved and is it worth it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    converting boiler

Sure, you can do it. Peerless ECT is a good boiler and you should have no problem. Just remove the steam trim, plug the unused holes, and connect your piping. Use the piping diagrams provided with the boiler and you should have no issues. You obviously will need new controls and most likely a different low water cut-off if required in your area. You might consider hiring a heating pro to guide you through it if you plan this as a DIY project. A few hours of his/her time will be well worth the investment. One mistake can cost you a lot more.
